SCOTTY BARNHART - B1-5 S4

We designed this model at Scotty Barnhart's request last year, just before he recorded his first solo CD, "Say It Plain." After having heard the positive results other players experienced with new "SLAP" mouthpieces, Scotty asked us if an upgrade to his B1-5 mouthpiece would be possible in time for the CD recording. Dave Monette got on the computer and drew up several variations, retaining Scotty's B1-5 rim but with different degrees of "SLAP" cups. We settled right on on the S4 version...

RASHAWN ROSS - B2L S3

Rashawn Ross approached us earlier this year to make him a custom mouthpiece and this is the new model we developed, which may be Dave Monette's new favorite lead mouthpiece size! It has a B2 rim, an extreme "SLAP" cup and a cup depth between a B2L S1 and a B2LD S1. Rashawn plays trumpet with the Dave Matthews Band, and can play triple high C's (and above) with more ease than any player we have ever met!

OUR ALL-NEW PRANA 3 C TRUMPET!

We've spent the last couple years working on a complete redesign of our PRANA 3 C trumpet, and we're excited to say it's finally ready for prime time! Dave Monette designed an all-new leadpipe mandrel for the instrument and the results are quite startling, as can be heard on the video demo by Dave Bamonte.

Five months, lots of tooling and too many man/hours of labor later to count, the horn was delivered to Wynton in New York on May 7th, 2009. His reaction, captured in a home video made by his assistant, Jono, as he played the first few notes on the horn, was one word spoken to Dave Monette: "Congratulations."

Charles Gorham is Dave Monette's teacher, mentor and friend. With the encouragement of many great players, Dave moved to Bloomington Indiana in 1981 to be able to work with Charlie regularly as he developed and completed the first Monette instruments. Charlie took delivery of the first two Monette trumpets, serial numbers #001 and #002 in May of 1983...

Our friends with the Salvation Army brass ensemble made their annual holiday trip to our shop December 19, 2008, helping us celebrate both the holiday season and their mission to help those in need. We are a proud supporter of the Salvation Army and the heroic work they do, bringing food and shelter to the homeless, helping victims of domestic violence, people with addiction issues and more.
