WE LOVE URBAN AND JOAKIM!

The Agnas brothers first visited our shop back in the 1980's, visiting on Bud Herseth's suggestion that they come pick up their first Monette trumpets in person. That was a fortunate day for all of us at Monette.

Since then, Urban and Joakim Agnas have made the very long trip from Stockholm to our Portland shop several times – and we always "win," because we get to hear them play in person! As Oregon Symphony Principal Trumpet Jeff Work noted out loud with a huge smile on his face between tunes as they performed at a shop concert a few years ago, "Wow, you'd never know these two guys came out of the same womb!!!"

The reasons these two virtuosos are such favorites at our shop is because they are impeccable, uninhibited musicians, and they are SO MUCH FUN to hang out with! They both have serious interests and lives outside the world of music, and this helps give them a refreshing perspective on music making we enjoy every time we get to see them.
