URBAN AND JOAKIM AGNAS'S TUNNING NEW CD!

Urban and Joakim Agnas have been Monette clients since 1986, and we love following their careers and accomplishments. Their latest solo CD, which they just released this Spring, features both Urban in a solo context with piano, and the brothers playing classic duets. You can hear audio samples of each piece and also purchase the CD directly from Urban's new website, www.urbanagnas.com. It can also be purchsaed on iTunes.

Included on the new CD are Urban's interpretation of the Hindemith Sonata and Enesco Legend, plus duets with Joakim including Casterede and Persichetti Parable. The pianist for the recording was Ida Mo.

Urban told us he had wanted to produce this recording for years, and one can hear immediately it was worth the wait! The hall used to make the recording hall was fantastic, and we believe this is the first classical solo recording made with our new, next generation Monette PRANA C trumpets.

In addition to the new CD, previous CD's made by the Stockholm Chamber Brass (which Joakim and Urban are both founding members) are also available for sale on the site, along with Urban's beautiful solo CD of the Hummel Concerto with the London Mozart Players, recorded for Chandros a few years ago.

Urban also has made available for sale on his new site his popular Flow Studies, which are available as a PDF download for a modest price. The purpose of the studies is to help players mentally as well as physically work with their instruments - not fight them! The downloads include comments to help the student understand HOW to play as well as what to play, and there are links on his webpage to YouTube videos he has posted showing the flow studies in action. Students and professionals are using these studies with great success. Free samples are available to download on his site.

Since 2001 Urban has been professor of trumpet at the Academy of Music in Cologne, Germany. Joakim is Principal Trumpet of the Stockholm Philharmonic. The orchestra recently purchased a matching set of PRANA C trumpets. Watch our site for the full story on this coming later this year. Joakim uses a PRANA XLT C trumpet with his own custom model PRANA mouthpiece. Urban uses Prana LT Bb and LT C instruments, also with custom PRANA mouthpieces.
