MAYNARD'S NEW CD FEATURES THREE MONETTE TRUMPETS!
Maynard Ferguson has just relased a new CD, recorded "live" at Ronnie Scotts
in London. Maynard, Patrick Hession (lead trumpet) and Ernie Hammes
(jazz chair) all played their Monette instruments for the date.
Maynard and Patrick both use their "MF PRANA" instruments, and Ernie uses his large bell B993. Check out Maynard playing from a low G all the way up to D over double C on "I'm Old Fashioned," and Patrick playing up to Eb over double C on the "MF Hit Medley." We also heard that Ernie Hammes almost needed a finger transplant after what he played on "Milestones!"

You can hear sound clips from the new recording and also purchase it directly from the CD BABY WEB site.

MAYNARD AND THE BAND VISIT OUR SHOP
On their Winter 2006 tour, Dave Monette had the opportunity to go hear the band at Jazz Alley in Seattle, and then ride the bus down I-5 with the band to our shop for some quick instrument maintenance, a photo shoot with our photographer Bruce Forster, and of course the obligatory marathon Indian lunch!
Maynard was in fine form all week, and the band was on fire. For a more detailed report on events during the Seattle gig, CLICK HERE.
