ANNOUNCING
THE NEXT GENERATION OF MONETTE INSTRUMENTS!
Over the last few
years we have been giving Monette instruments their biggest makeover
ever. Our new, computer controlled CNC machinery has allowed us to re-tool
and improve virtually every part of our instruments. The results are
better than we had ever imagined
|
WHAT'S IMPROVED
MECHANICALLY?
Our new PRANA
models feature all-new valve casings and pistons, with a new, improved
drilling pattern for the valve ports. Our state-of-the-art Mazak CNC
lathe and mill allow us to make valve and valve casing parts machined
to a perfect alignment and fit. Our new valve design alone is one of
the biggest single improvements in Monette instruments ever
but
that's not all.
We have also
developed new tooling to improve most other parts of our instruments,
including our new, wide-radius bells, new regular and wide-radius
tuning slides, new valve slide crooks
even our water keys and water key pistons
are redesigned and improved! All these upgrades and more have improved
our instruments so much that even Dave Monette is startled at how well
these new instruments play! If you thought you knew how good a Monette
trumpet was - even a Monette PRANA - think again. They just got much
better.
WHAT'S IMPROVED
MUSICALLY?
These new instruments
have an ease of projection and a freedom of expression never before
possible, even with previous Monette instruments. They are more open
and at the same time even more secure, with much larger "targets"
on each note. The response is so fast, the horns seem to almost jump
out of your hands as you play.
If you team up one
of our new PRANA instruments with our improved PRANA or new PRANA S-series mouthpieces, the results are even more dramatic. We offer base models
in five different weights of C trumpet and six weights of B-flat trumpet
to cover the widest range of musical demands.
WHO ARE SOME OF THE FIRST PLAYERS TO TAKE DELIVERY OF OUR "NEXT GENERATION" INSTRUMENTS?

“The ‘Next Generation’ Prana trumpets and mouthpieces
have once again expanded on everything Dave Monette has been striving
for from the beginning: (not necessarily in any order) easier,
faster response, wider dynamic range, wider range of color (timbre),
more resonance, more brilliance; easier upper register, easier
lower register, smoother legato, crisper staccato; less effort
to achieve all the above thus enabling the player to deal more
with making music.”

"I can get a fantastic amount of sound and energy out of this
horn with very little effort. This horn is REALLY fun to play!
The lower register is sensational - big, fat, open and locked-in.
The high D, E and F are so open - easier than they have ever been
before - and they were already easy on my previous PRANA STC-1
C trumpet! Good luck ever getting this thing back David!"

"Wow!!!!! The horn is simply something else. The response, sound and agility of it is so amazing. Everyone is commenting on the sound and energy of #2002 - even members of the audience who weren't musicians. The sax player summed it up the best. He said , "Yes, it sounds better - yes, its more in-tune - yes, it projects like crazy - but the most important thing is you sound so much more comfortable playing it!"

"Visually, my new Prana 1 C is absolutely stunningc but that is only the beginning. The fantastic projection and huge, rich sound is startling! Compared to my original Prana C trumpet, this instrument is even easier to play. The target areas are wide enough that it is nearly an "unclamable"
trumpet! The adjustment period isn't even worth mentioning . . . I
switched horns and mouthpieces immediately. This is a blast!

"After I thought I would never have to change trumpets again, now you've done it! The new Prana 1 C trumpet is unbelievable. Coupled with my new Prana C1-5M S12 mouthpiece, I have been experiencing a new level of clarity, responsiveness and evenness in my sound I never thought was possible. At a recent recording session for Mark Isham (the feature film "Invincible"), Mark told me that as soon as I started to play it was obvious to all in the booth that something special was going on with this equipment! BRAVISSIMO my friend!"

“This thing is ALIVE, man! PRANA is the only name you could
have given it. I’ve been practicing in this one particular
room for years, and I’ve NEVER heard what I am hearing in
this room. The sound is just bouncing and jumping all over the
place. Amazing! There is a big problem though… now I hate
all my other horns!”

"What a fun horn to play! The response all over the horn is so effortless, I can't compare it to any horn I have ever played. It just wants to play itself! It has opened a whole new universe to me in the low register - I love playing down there more than on any other horn I have ever played because it sounds so beautiful. I fall in love with it every time I play, and I just don't want to put it down!!! Thanks Dave."
