- Fat,
thick, broad sound.
- Heaviest
instrument we make without sheet bracing.
- Can
be used with both STC-2- and STC-3 weight mouthpieces for extra versatility.
- Great
for small group jazz.
- Large
5 5 /8" bell.
- It’s
fun to have a bigger sound than anyone else!
This
model is an updated version of our very popular 937, which has been used
by many jazz players in small groups and big bands since the late 1980s.
From the Phil Woods Quintet (Brian Lynch) to the Count Basie Orchestra
(Scotty Barnhart), this is a favorite model for players who want a thick,
dark, broad sound that can still scream when you play loud! The 997 is
considerably heavier than the previous instruments listed, but not as
heavy as our AJNA, SHAKTI, or RAJA instruments.
