To help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first Monette trumpet (May 22, 1983), Dave Monette has decided to pull out all the stops and come up with the next generation of Monette instruments!

At the recent ITG conference in Texas, our sample PRANA STC-1 C trumpet and our prototype PRANA AJNA II B-flat were the hit of the show. The PRANA instruments were enthusiastically received by players of all ability levels at the show, since they are simply much easier to play. The difference in response, intonation and projection - like PRANA mouthpieces - is felt immediately.

The first Prana B993 B-flat was delivered to Wynton Marsalis in March at a gig in Michigan, and he has been tearing the braces off it ever since! Wynton's comment was, "this is a whole new thing!" We think so too.

PRANA instruments are designed and built to be the "best of the best."

If you like Monette PRANA mouthpieces, you will love Monette PRANA instruments!

PRANA instruments are more time consuming to build than our standard instruments, and this is reflected in the price.

PRANA instruments are slightly more delicate than our regular instruments. As with all the Monette instruments, trumpet stands and non-Monette cases will immediately damage PRANA instruments! Follow the "in your hands or in your case" rule for best results.
PRANA instruments are designed to be used with Monette PRANA mouthpieces only! A "marriage" between the instrument and mouthpiece is critical to getting the most out of these instruments. Dave Monette personally play-tests and adjusts every PRANA instrument/mouthpiece combination for each new delivery.

Any Standard Monette instrument from the STC-1 weight and heavier can be made with the PRANA upgrade.
