| Monette
Corporation was recently featured in a quarter page story in the WALL
STREET JOURNAL, and will soon be featured in a segment of the CBS
News program CBS SUNDAY MORNING.
The
CBS film crew spent this last winter visiting with our clients Wynton
Marsalis in New York and the Israel Philharmonic in Tel Aviv. They
also made the trip to our shop for several days to film instrument
and mouthpiece production and to interview Dave Monette.
Both
Wynton and Zubin Mehta were interviewed at length for the piece
as well, and there will be film of the Israel Philharmonic and Lincoln
Center Jazz Orchestra trumpet sections using Monette instruments
in performance. Our client Ron Miles also came in from Denver for
the filming at our shop, and played a private concert with his trio
for the cameras.
The
Wall Street Journal article came on the heels of the Ken Burns Jazz
series on PBS, which featured Wynton Marsalis prominently.
It seems the paper got so many inquiries about the unusual looking
instrument Wynton was playing during the show that they looked us
up and then visited our shop to get the full story.
Please
check our site for news on when the CBS News segment will air, or
watch your local listings for Sunday Mornings, which is when the
show airs weekly.
