New Lightweight C Trumpet

For years clients have asked us for an easy to play, lightweight C trumpet that still has all the best qualities Monette instruments are known for.  We are excited to introduce our all-new, lightweight 2000LT C trumpet!

This horn is the lightest C trumpet we have ever made, but it still projects like crazy – noticeably more than conventional instruments!  Usually finished in bright silver, this horn will fill even a mediocre hall with a brilliant, exciting sound at all dynamic levels.  It is also great for auditions, as it will satisfy both the aural and the “visual ear” of conservative colleagues.  For clients who do not like silver instruments, it can also be made in raw brass or 24k gold finish.

The first few prototypes were checked out by several of our clients, including Chris Gekker – who recorded a CD on it in Europe after having had the horn for less than a week!  Also on the list of initial testers were Steve Hendrickson and Keith Jones of the NSO, Andrew Balio and Ed Hoffman of the Baltimore Symphony, and D.C. area freelancer Phil Snedecor, who purchased the very first prototype!  Phil's comment at the time he first tried it was that he played Zarathustra 10 times in a row and couldn’t miss the high C.  We like that!  Chris Gekker told us the recording went great, and the engineer specifically complimented him on his sound with the new instrument.
