| Our New, Lightweight Mouthpieces Designed for Lead
Players are Catching on Like Crazy!
Monette archive photo of Maynard and Dave having fun
backstage!

Dave Monette made a trip to Seattle recently, for dinner with "The
Boss," and for two sets at Jazz Alley to see how Maynard was doing with
his new mouthpiece. Maynard was in fine form, with double C's all
over both sets.
"The Boss" isn't the only one enjoying his new mouthpiece...his former
lead player, Craig Johnson wrote:
Hey Dave -
The newest version of the LT mouthpiece
is great! Even better than the prototype. Each new mouthpiece
is better than the last. How do you guys do it?
Thanks-
Craig J

| Pete Olstad Visits the Shop!
Pete and Danny Falcone from the Tom Jones band
visit with our mouthpiece maker Dean Comley
|
Our friend (and former Maynard lead player) Pete Olstad visited
the shop recently while on tour as lead trumpet with Tom Jones. Our
mouthpiece maker Dean Comley made up a few of the new "LT" mouthpieces
for Pete to try, and Pete was kind enough to demonstrate his "guaranteed
double high C trumpet technique…" (Not advised for players under the age
of 18 unless supervised by an adult!). |

in December to "Get His Ears Cleaned Out!"

John makes some 'fine adjustments'...
|
While on a short break from touring with the road company of "MISS
SAIGON" John was able to swing by the shop. Starting early 2000,
John will be playing the lead book with the touring company of "FOSSE,"
the same show his section mate from his Maynard days Craig Johnson
is playing on Broadway. "FOSSE" recently won a Tony award for best
musical, and the show has a lot of screaming trumpet - and a fair amount
of blowing as well. John is using our new "LT" lead mouthpiece in
a B-6L size for his extreme lead playing, and our regular STC-1 weight
for everyday use. |
